What do you do for a living?

I’m a brand strategist from way back.

How far back?

Far enough back to have worked with a lot of different agencies.

And this one’s different?

Absolutely.

Why?

For the same reason it’s a great agency to hire: It’s not a behemoth; it’s a tight-knit group of very seasoned people. You get an A team on every project. It’s the kind of place I want to be.

What do you like best?

I’d say the level of honesty. In the way we deal with each other and in the way we deal with our clients. Clients need a creative shop, but they also need advisors they trust. They need people who don’t just go along to get along, who will guide them to the truth.

How do you know what the truth is?

It comes from experience. Which is another reason we’re better equipped than some multilayered behemoth. We don’t have senior people who visit now and then while the junior people do all the work. When your team is seasoned across the board, the people on the project know what works, and you can get to the truth a lot faster. There’s no waffling and or wasted time. It’s efficient. And it’s effective.

Does this give Sequel an advantage?

In a tough business environment like this one, sure. Because this climate tends to favor a lean, experienced organization. Sequel is the epitome of that — an agency that offers senior-level thinking, but one that also delivers it through an agile and cost-effective organization. Right now, clients really appreciate that.
