Annual Report and Corporate Responsibility Reports
Challenge
With energy one of the world's most important — and most contentious — hot-button issues, a leading company sought to create a more balanced view of its business. The question, of course, was how? How, in the face of skepticism from many different constituencies, could Chevron reframe a story that everyone thought they knew?
Solution
To achieve balance, in addition to a website, we developed two books: a strategically focused annual report and a corporate responsibility report that is just as robust and fully realized. While the former portrays Chevron's success in exploring and developing much-needed energy, the latter reports on contributions to the health and welfare of communities worldwide — through education, health care, economic development, environmental sustainability, and strong partnerships.
Results
Working together, the two reports create a multidimensional view of Chevron, a company of 56,000 smart, productive, community-minded individuals. The publications create a foundation for dialogue between the company and a wide range of constituencies, including investors, consumers, governments, educators, environmentalists and public policy organizations.
